rmn 0 Posted January 3, 2006 I am looking at a lot of big power corrado's and most seem to be 5 stud cars(based on a vr to start with) I am considering going narrow track 5 stud but dont know wheather i need to it will be a 16v g60 with about 250 bhp. Any of the big power 1.8t cars got 4 stud? We could do this like a school essay, discuss?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 3, 2006 4 stud should be fine! The Focus RS was 4 stud and that had 18s and a lot of torque ;-) I think the amount of studs is determined by vehicle weight and engine torque.
Not_Aircooled_or_Taxfree 0 Posted January 3, 2006 True, More weight more torque= more studs, i think that is one of the reason HGVs have loads and loads of studs. That or it is to stop pikeys from pinching them
rmn 0 Posted January 3, 2006 Cool, i was just not sure, i have seen many differing opinions on what is right and what is wrong. the vr's being 5 stud got me thinking.... anyone gone from the bolt setup to a stud and nut setup like the ones Bildon sell?
