Increasing the VR6 capacity?

Recommended Posts

Right guys, i've managed to get hold of a VR6 engine from a Golf. Since im not sure on how long the Corrado's bottom end can handle all its abuse i've been giving it lately, i've decided to get the 2.8 bored out to something bigger. What is the best and cheapest way to go about this?

TIA

Not sure exactly mate but I decided to get a 24v rather than bore out my VR as it works out about the same price. You'll need new pistons, shells and big ends and maybe crank I think. I also think the head will need doing, though someone may correct me on this.

The cheapest oversized pistons I found were here:

They only wanted $100 shipping too, but you'll have to pay import on that.

Give PSI Tuning a call mate, they'll give you some prices. Their details are in the suppliers section.

is he going to be setting up a websie and selling more vr6 tuning parts...the uk could do with a decent vr6 tuning/parts sales company

There's someone on Edition38 selling a 3 litre VR6 engine with new forged pistons for £800.

Thats a cheap engine providing its been done properly

PSI are setting up a web site soon, I'll ask Andy more next time I see him.
