Pau1 0 Posted January 5, 2006 Right guys, i've managed to get hold of a VR6 engine from a Golf. Since im not sure on how long the Corrado's bottom end can handle all its abuse i've been giving it lately, i've decided to get the 2.8 bored out to something bigger. What is the best and cheapest way to go about this? TIA
Stan 24v 0 Posted January 5, 2006 Not sure exactly mate but I decided to get a 24v rather than bore out my VR as it works out about the same price. You'll need new pistons, shells and big ends and maybe crank I think. I also think the head will need doing, though someone may correct me on this. The cheapest oversized pistons I found were here: http://www.eiptuning.com/eip/vw6cylinderpistons.html They only wanted $100 shipping too, but you'll have to pay import on that.
