dubboy 0 Posted January 17, 2006 Had an oil cooler fitted along with themostat etc in December and it's doing a wonderful job on long journeys, but to good a job on the short ones. So going to work my car dosen't get up to temperature. Worried about doing any damage as I use the car everyday. Is there a way of tricking the thermostat etc into making it get up to temperature quicker? The cooler is mounted behind the grill. I have tried blocking the grill, but this not really working. trev-b 0 Posted January 17, 2006 Does it have a thermostat controlling when it opens?

dubboy 0 Posted January 17, 2006 How would I tell? I'm not sure by what you mean 'when it opens' I brought the kit from pitstop developments. There was a sandwich plate which looked like it had a cylinder at one end which I gathered contained the thermostat.
