owen01 0 Posted January 17, 2006 can anyone?? help my fuel guage on my a3 1.8t quattro sometimes says empty after filling, i can fill the tank park the car for a couple of hours start the engine and the fuel light comes on and vice versa it can be close to empty and show 3/4 of a tank at first i thought it was heavy on fuel.£30.00 will get me about 150 miles steady driving is this right??anyone give me advise please Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

4stud 0 Posted January 18, 2006 Sounds like a dodgy sender in your tank. Not sure about the modern stuff but there is usually a float which operates your gauge. Could just be a simple wiring thing in a modern car though. Bet there is about 20 wires going to it with all kinds of "helpfull" sensors on them.
