cvw 0 Posted January 19, 2006 was driving to prestonlast night with my dodgy clutch and the battery light statted going on in a sort of rythem but there was no loss of power and every thing seemed to be workin fine except the clutch . any ideas? Roger Blassberg 0 Posted January 19, 2006 Sounds as though your alternator is on the way out, or the drive belt is slipping. There would be no loss of engine power straight away, but your battery will eventually discharge, or at least not be charged properly. woody 0 Posted January 19, 2006 also look at the cables which go from the atenator to the just above the black cylinder above the starter motor. Mine did this and the nut and combined with some surface rust on the terminal had come loose, i.e intermittent connection combined with engine running caused the battery light to flicker.
