z chargers

Recommended Posts

Which z-engineering charger is it? there are 3 different types if I remeder right. the mk1 which has ceramic bearings and said to last for-ever, and initally cost 4.5K, then came the mk2, that had propperbearings with an oil bath that had to be serviced, the mk2 usually came with ruber pipes instead of carbon fibre. he mk3 had toothed belts I think.

Apparently they're supposed to be serviced every 3k miles (I think). The ZR1 is least reliable as it doesn't have a cogged belt and was prone to slipping leading to other engine damage/problems due to this. The ZR2 was much better because it had the cogged belt. Don't know anything about the ZR3 though I'm afraid.

The information about servicing the supercharger (zr2) every 3k is incorrect. It is recommended that the engine oil should be changed every 3-5k miles and the supercharger oil should be checked and topped up every 15,000 kilometers (about 9500 miles).
