What is the full name of the semi-synthetic VW oil for a VR6

Hi

 

I need to get some of the VW semi-synthetic oil for my 1997 Golf vr6 (I assume the oil would be the same for a Corrado vr6). I believe it is called something like "VW Syntha Silver" but not sure on this. And is the rating supposed to be 10w40 or 15w40? Does anyone know how much it is?

Yep it's 'Syntha Silver' and it's 10w40.

It retails at about £15.99 i think but the last lot i bought was about £6.50 - depends on what sort of discount yer dealer gives you!
