Si B 0 Posted September 1, 2003 With a 68mm pulley and Jabba chip, S4 charger, de cat pipe and induction kit I am getting up to 5,800 on the boost meter with about 3,000 at 3,000 rpm. Re the belt, you should get a new tensioner end cap with the pulley kit which makes the tensioner longer and thus takes up the slack in the std belt. You just chop off the old end and the new cap slides onto the tensioner.
exturbo2003 0 Posted September 1, 2003 3000 on the boost meter at 3000 rpm? do you mean the reading on the mfa? if so mines 1980at 5800. didnt fit the end cap as didnt want to cut the tensioner but will try it tomorrow, thanks
Si B 0 Posted September 2, 2003 By boost meter yes I do mean the MFA reading, although as I am still trying to find someone who can tell me what the 4 digit readout equates to in psi. Your reading is a lot lower than mine was although thinking back, I wonder if I managed to accidentaly switch the digi rev counter on instead!????? cos the readings were very similar to the rev readings. If this is the case then sorry if my previous post confused you. Please could you confirm what sequence of button pressing you used to activate the thing and then I will have another look at it this weekend. regards Simon
spoier 0 Posted September 2, 2003 Strange, the MFA on my '90 US car reads out three numbers for intake vacuum... > Intake vacuum = psi > 172 2.9 > 192 5.8 > 211 8.7 > 228 11.6 > 242 14.5 > 255 17.4 But I did find this info: the book says 1400 is 5.8, and 1600 is 8.7. this is for up to august 1990. the chart for 91-92 stops at 1100 for some reason. but on that chart, 1100 is 1.5 psi, so looks like the same thing. since you have the motometer, it is easier for you to figure out. 1000 is atmospheric pressure at sea level (not sure where you live) or 0 psi. every 100 over that is 1.47 psi. .... so if that's right 3000 = 29.4 psi?!?? yikes that cant be right - oh well Skye

exturbo2003 0 Posted September 3, 2003 start vehicle, switch mfa to position 2, holding in the select button turn the engine off and restart. the mfa should change display to C10, press button once and you now have the boost reading. as far as i know 1880 is 1 bar/14.5 psi. mine reads 1970 but a boost gauge reads 15 psi, so about right. the book says 1400 is 5.8, and 1600 is 8.7. this is for up to august 1990. the chart for 91-92 stops at 1100 for some reason. but on that chart, 1100 is 1.5 psi, so looks like the same thing. since you have the motometer, it is easier for you to figure out. 1000 is atmospheric pressure at sea level (not sure where you live) or 0 psi. every 100 over that is 1.47 psi. thats about right for mine
