potatonet 0 Posted February 17, 2006 um yeah I have had this tapping noise, I mean a good TAP. hit the back of your nail against a table and thats kinda what it sounds like but with more of a pop at the end.It starts about 2000 rpms and keeps going up the revs. if I let it stay at one RPM its not so continuous, kinda does it and doesnt do it off and on. as I rev the engine up it because consitant and has pretty repeditive cyclic sound. I have a 260/268 cam in there I thought it might just be slapping, I recently replaced the old valve springs with new sport ones from autotech and it seems to have gotten kinda louder. anyone? if I drive next to a wall I can hear it when I rev. Oh and this may be unrelated but when I start the car on a cold day I get an uneven wirr, kinda like da da da da da when you rev the engine at start up. once again just replaced stuff but I think I have had that longer than I have noticed it. when its warm its not there.
