Rick_ford55 0 Posted February 22, 2006 Just asking this for a friend who just bought a golf 3 vr6. It is mint with leather interior heated seats and only 55k on the clock OBD1 or 2 i think anyway went in it a run today not for long maybe half an hour in town traffic and we popped the bonnet when we stopper and fair enough the engine felt roasting ( so does the C vr6) but there was a funny gurgling noide going through the coolant system although something was boiling or a gremlin was inside drinking oil/water/fuel beer? it was pretty loud....i have no experience with this kind of engine just wondering if anyone had or knew anything this may be? KarmannVR6 0 Posted February 22, 2006 The vr6 engines have a auxiliary water pump which circulates water when the ignition is on but the engine isnt running. I think it also comes on when the fans kick in after the engine is switched off (when hot). The noise may just be this. Any other symptoms? Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
