gollfy 0 Posted April 9, 2006 I have just aquired a corrado for my g/f, a 1995 2.0l 8V. However it used to be an automatic as per the log book. It has a manual gearbox at the mo but that is dead :( so I am after a replacement. I know car is all rigged up for a cable change gearbox but Im a little unsure what type of box to get. I want to keep it as standard as possible  so dont really want to put a 16v rado one on and I think, may be wrong Mk3 golf gearboxes are lever and not cable change. I Know passats are cable change but what model to look for I dont know :?: Any help would be appreciated Thanks
Mike Edwards 0 Posted April 9, 2006 The gearbox on the 2l 16v is the same, as is the one found on some 2 litre Passats from 1992-97. Look for an 02A cable change box with the CGY code.
gollfy 0 Posted April 9, 2006 Will the gear ratio's be the same, mine is an 8v
Mike Edwards 0 Posted April 9, 2006 Yes - that's why I said the gearbox is the same. :) If you're not worried about the ratios, any 02A 'box will do.
