What engines do the TT come with?

I believe there's a 1.8T and a 3.2, but is there one in between?

2.5?

It must have been one of the quicker 1.8T's then.

He tried having a go the other day, but the VR was just too quick for him!!

Probably one of the slower 1.8s then, no? I've driven my old bosses 1.8T and it was so different to drive I couldn't work out whether it was faster or not! Not sure what the BHP was on that one though..

As far as I know there are only 1.8T and 3.2 engines availible for the TT.

The 1.8T is based on the standard VW/Audi 20V Turbo engine which is found across the ranges in various forms with just variations in turbo size, chipping and tuning.

Most TT's either have the 180bhp or 225bhp version of the 1.8T engine while a few more recent models have the 3.2 lump.

there was a 150bhp/1.8t version as well

I tink

mainly European only - but there are some early left hookers out there

single pipes used to be telltale of the cars bhp

When audi brought out the lower powered 180bhp version a couple of years ago as a "cheaper alternative" they used a single tailpipe then, and still do today.

Thats currently the easiest "quick spot" tell tale sign of a new TT's power.

I like to play spot the early TT without the "anti oversteer" mod spoiler on the back.

It's strange how a small piece of plastic ruins the cars lines

There is a 150bhp version that was available as right hand drive in roadster form only!!

yep, similar aim to the Corrado 2L 8v, try to shift a few more units at a lower price before the production comes to an end.

Incidently the 150bhp version was front wheel drive only, so easily spotted as there is no Quattro badge on the rear, no roof and only one exhaust pipe! 8)
