samm_cvr6 0 Posted April 26, 2006 Can anyone tell me how to stop an ABS warning light coming on on my VR6? or anyone who could fix it in Kent without getting charged what a VW dealer would to fix it? It seems to be coming on intermittently and is a major problem now as won't pass mot whilst like this. Thanks Sam :?
oxfordpaul 0 Posted April 26, 2006 You need to get it plugged in to Vag.com as that will bring up a fault code. Mine is in the garage today for this. It's most likely a wheel sensor which is £50-70 to fix but it could be more serious. Most garages will have the equipment to check it out.
dinkus 10 Posted April 26, 2006 Moving to Drivetrain. It's most likely a bent sensor cage on one of the wheels, or perhaps a sensor itself. Without replacing all of them it's hard to tell, but as oxfordpaul says, hooking the car up to VAG-COM will give you an answer. If you have a look in the VAG-COM Scanning and Help thread - people are offering their services there. Alternatively, a local VW specialist will probably scan it for free if you ask nicely :)
dr_mat 0 Posted April 26, 2006 If you're handy with a multimeter then there's some basic checks you can do even without resorting to VAGCOM.
