Anyone had to renew VR6 power steering pipes?

Don't worry - I don't intend to be doing this!

 

Reason I ask is, car had MOT today and passed on everything.

One of advisories said "power steering pipes starting to corrode."

 

I asked my helpful garage man if this happened regularly.

He said it does from time to time on Mk3 Golfs and Polos and "it's quite expensive."

Mine should last for a good while, but I wondered if anyone on here has had to have said pipes replaced due to corrosion.

Had one replaced on my last VR, which was leaking. It cost a lot!
