mirroredone 0 Posted May 28, 2006 can any one help, I've just changed all my pads and discs, only to now have a problem..... I HAVE NO BRAKES!!!!! I've been told that it is probably the master cylinder has lost pressure and is sucking in air, is this likely? has this happened to anyone else? if so does anyone know how much its gonna cost to repair? cheers
Supercharged 2 Posted May 28, 2006 Whats actually the problem? - what happens when you pump the pedal?
peanut 0 Posted May 28, 2006 you just need to bleed them. if you pmp the pedal when the engines running does it go hard then sink to the floor? if so it just needs bled. Get yourself down halfords and get a pressure bleed kit. Nice one Gav
mirroredone 0 Posted May 28, 2006 I've bleed them twice, when i drove it there was no brakes what so ever, the pedal went to the floor and the car kept on going, then occationally they would bite slightly, but nothing else.

mirroredone 0 Posted May 28, 2006 Thats what i thought, i did the brakes last weekend drove for guildford to salisbury and then around that area for the week the i drove back, and it was then that the started to play up, i did about 200 miles and wasn't happy with how effective they were so yesterday i bleed them again, and they just went completely. but there has been no leaks, and when i dod bleed the again there was no air in the system, what a bloody pain in the arse...... sciroccotune 0 Posted May 28, 2006 if you pump the peddle whilst there is no fulid in the res you will blow the seals on the master C. also how did you bleed them, it can be done wrong and also you have to clamp off the bais valve on teh back etc. if you have abs i find its best to do it with the ignition on but the car not running. .A.N.T. 0 Posted May 29, 2006 Doesn't matter though as your car isn't fast enough to need brakes...... ;)
