flusted 0 Posted June 13, 2006 Ive just finished sticking a g60 lump in my 16v but am unsure what the process is with telling the dvla. Has anyone gone down this route? Can anyone advise me where to start? Do i need an engineers report?
CazzaVR 0 Posted June 13, 2006 There's a 'changes' section on the V5 but not sure if that's enough. Give them a call, only way to be sure.

kevin 0 Posted June 13, 2006 just fill in the engine number on the v5,as your not changing engine size thats all they need. i did this 18 months ago, your car however can never be a g60,it will be a 16v with a g60 engine in it. it also works out cheaper on insurance as its still a 16v but modified, sound stupid i know but belive me,i phoned the dvla about ten times before they told me exactly what to do. regards kevin
Henny 0 Posted June 13, 2006 yup, as Kevin says, it's no longer possible to change the type on the V5 (so you can't make an escort into an XR3i etc), so the only thing you need to do is make sure that the engine number changes and that the insurance company knows and STATES it on their documentation that it's had the conversion...
