Toad 0 Posted June 14, 2006 Hey guys, I've just been talking to a mate who is trying to get a 3 cylinder ecotec engined corsa through the MOT, It's just failed on emmissions, CO% being too high to be precise, and my mate was advised to fit a new CAT, I'd have thought the lambda probe would be more likely to be the cause of the problem rather than the CAT itself. Any ideas would be great. Cheers Toad
dr_mat 0 Posted June 15, 2006 Probably the CAT. The lambda just controls fuelling, the CAT is responsible for burning off the remaining CO (because there IS always some left) into CO2.
Toad 0 Posted June 16, 2006 Thanks Dr. It turned out that the inside of the CAT had disintegrated and it's going for (another) retest on Friday.
