madscientist 0 Posted June 19, 2006 Had lots of steam coming out the VR engine sunday morning, found the hose at the back of the head going to the bulkhead had a small split in it. Luckily it went when i was'nt on the motorway. Anyway i managed to take it off at the head and cut it down a bit above the split. It looks a bit tight now so i think it would be best to get a another one just in case. Anyone have a spare or know how much the stealers will charge? Chris VR6nos 0 Posted June 19, 2006 You can get away with any piece of straight hose from a scrappy, there's some blanking off you can do to make things better anyway so all isn't lost. Someone will prob have one but it's pretty much the easiest one to sort out gladly. Chris
madscientist 0 Posted June 19, 2006 Are you sure your thinking of the same one Chris? It branches off to the TB as well or is that the blanking off you need to do? But yes as you say, it was the easiest to get at for once :)
Roger Blassberg 0 Posted June 19, 2006 There is a branch off to the inlet manifold/throttle body heater from one of the pipes in this area. The VAG hose cost me about £45 last summer, absolute daylight robbery. The clip on the bulkhead end is a bit of a barsteward to get at. madscientist 0 Posted June 19, 2006 That doesnt suprise me one bit! You dont happen to have the part number do you?
Roger Blassberg 0 Posted June 19, 2006 At work at the moment, so not able to quote number. You may find it stencilled in white ink onto the old hose. Best wishes RB
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted June 19, 2006 Simply wouldn't get one for that price, you would do well just blanking the TB heater pipes off and you'll get cooler denser air into the engine, loads of people on the forum have done exactly this mod. Save your money and work it out from a regular pipe sod the dealer. Chris
.Rich. 0 Posted June 19, 2006 This hose went on me last week, cost me £37 from the stealers.
