Fairzy 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Hello! I know this has been discussed a fair few times - I've gone through most of the threads, but someone recently suggested connecting the two vacuum pipes to each other!?! Any ideas if this would work? Cheers, Fairzy
Taggart 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Dunno, but I've got my CC removed and one of the pipes ticks loudly now (the larger one) I'm looking for a solution to this too
martyjmcfly 0 Posted June 30, 2006 Hi, i recently removed my carbon can so as to fit some ducting for the BMC and simply put the small clear tube into the larger diameter black tube with the help from a jubilee clip. Several people have inspected my handy work and all seems to be fine. I have noticed no problems what so ever. The carbon can is spent after 100k miles (apparently). Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 30, 2006 Clear tube (or the tank vent tube) must not be blocked under any circumstances. But if you still want the evap to be burned off, just join the clear to black hose as done above, so long as it's downstream of N80 evap valve. (the blue thing clipped to the inner wing). Otherwise leave it open to atmosphere....but it'll stink if you don't put the hose far away from the engine bay.
martyjmcfly 0 Posted June 30, 2006 Hey Kev - i joined the two tubes that were connected to the top of the carbon can. The now tube assembly sits in place where they were previously held in place by the plastic clips on the side - does that sound ok? - Clear tube (or the tank vent tube) must not be blocked under any circumstances. That sentence got me worried thats all!
