rmn 0 Posted July 3, 2006 Hi lads, i have a 1990 16v as a daily driver, when i got it i couldnt get 3rd gear, i looked at it and saw the later style bracked was in it for the selector cables(3 bolts instead of 2 and the cables sit on top of eachother) So i duely changed this yesterday, it made no difference it will go into first and fifth no problem. In fact all gears are fine except 3rd If i try to manually go into gear with the cables attached it wont go in, now i have not tried it wil the cable taken off, which i will do tonight It grates on third but wont go in. sciroccotune 0 Posted July 3, 2006 i was messing with the selector on the gear box trying to get the change a bit smoother on mine yester day. I found that there is very little in it to totally loose a gear !!! (lost 1st and 2nd for a while) a bit of messing and i have managed to get it nice and smooth.
