G60 Just Dies after about 400m

Recommended Posts

Driving quite happly along suddenly engine dies + power steering. I coast to a stop phone the AA when he turned up an hour later. After probing about checking for spark he conculed it must be the fuse. Fuse 18 feeds the lambda probe and also the fuel pump. This was blown Changed the fuse and car started but only goot 400m and then the fuse popped again. Anybody had this problem. I am leaning towards the fuel pump as if the lambda probe was faulty would i not have a lumpy running car when it was running??

Cheers

Woody

simply disconnect the lambda probe at the multi-plug on the rear engine mount... Your car will run slightly rich, but if it keeps on running, then you know where the fault is... ;)

Supercharged, The lambda sensor has a heater in it which can draw more than a dying fuel pump if it shorts... ;)

Yeah, unless the lambda wiring is broken / shorting

It is usualy the heater wire (red/white) shorting out to earth, very common.
