Funny Rattling Noise that's begining to scare me!

Hi,

 

I getting a little worried about my car making a funny rattling noise at certain Rpm's. It does it just after 2500rpm and a bit more further up but isnt a constant rattle. :shock:

 

Ive had the car a while and it's only just started doing it- had the charger rebuilt when i got the car about 9 months ago and put about 10k on it.

Ive changed the knock sensor as the cable insulation was broken, replace the cam belt and tensioner its not a noise coming from the tappets as im familiar with the noise they make and its not pinking either.

I dont drive the car gently infact it gets a spanking most days (the car that is- i have a girl freind) :twisted:

but i always wait until it's cold.

 

Can anyone shelp or has had this problem?

sounds very much like your exhaust heat shield is loose/broken

ya i agree with dazzy. i had my whole exhaust replaced mid-summer... and the fuggin rattle was still there! there was a heat shield buried up inside the bay that we had to get at from below and cut out of there. problem solved.

Check your plastic timing belt covers. Lower cover can catch & rattle on the pulleys if it's bent or not secured properly.
