Leonard 0 Posted September 25, 2003 Hi in a bit of a quandry. As well as the Corrado I also regularly get to drive a Mitsi EVO VI TME and the Corrado is beginning to feel a bit on the slow side. How good/reliable are the Z-Engineering etc super chargers, as all the owners I seem to see with them are always having problems with belt slip and the like. Plus do i really want to subject my immaculate VR6 to that? Or should I just sell it and buy something faster? :?:
marksvr6 0 Posted September 25, 2003 3500 g for a pro job!!!!! Was gonna get it done but couldn't justify the money!! what about a 30 bhp shot of NOS?? obv. not evo territory but......
CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted September 25, 2003 Chris Vr6-n.o.s has a Vortech V9fsq supercharger strapped on his vr6 and it goes like stink !! But they are expensive so I run nitrous and that goes like stink Charger is pricy but soooo nice :D N.O.S is a lot cheaper and gives the same or a lot more power but always runs out :( Both are on high milage cars with no side affects Have a look at this link... http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewto ... highlight=

Leonard 0 Posted September 26, 2003  which charger is that for?? Would I need a gearbox/clutch upgrade as well??
Joe M 0 Posted September 26, 2003 Also check out this thread http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewto ... upercharge The vf-engineering kit comes in at about £2500 fitted. http://www.vf-engineering.com/vw_corrado.htm Gearbox upgrades not neccesary at this point afaik, though a clutch upgrade might not be a bad idea. Leonard 0 Posted September 26, 2003 Awesome cheers Joe forgot about bigger brakes as well which means bigger wheels as well  Its all starting to add up a bit now  Don't know if i can justify spending the cash when i could sell car and buy an RX7 or something similar. It may be worth it though just to see the look on my sisters face when she flattens the throttle on the EVO VI and I'm still there in the rear view mirror
corradovr6sc 0 Posted September 27, 2003 I have the z-eng kit on my rado. Done 18k on the charger with no problems. The belt doesn't slip in good weather. Only tends to slip when there is a bit of moisture around. Not a big issue really. Standard clutch is ok and I've left the brakes standard. Brakes hold up ok with dot 5 fluid and braided hoses. Think the z-kit is now retailing at 2k and 2.5k for the vf kit plus vat.

dan 0 Posted September 29, 2003 Think the z-kit is now retailing at 2k and 2.5k for the vf kit plus vat. Yeah. they'll soon be at a realistic price.. I'll buy one when they're about £1200. I'm fed up paying extra for everything just because its for a Corrado 2p
