BigTartanJudge 0 Posted August 22, 2006 Em, possibly because the corrado wasn't made in Wolfsburg ? Just look on eBay for nice leather one, or get a VW Motorsport one, rare to find but really nice.

Redfox 10 Posted October 19, 2011 It may not be built in Wolfburg, but how much of the Corrado were actually built at Karmanns factory? The Whole car or just the bodyshells? Looking through ETKA, it appears that VW actually made a Wolfsburg Edition sidebadge for it. Replaces the sideblinkers. Cheers, Redfox.
Supercharged 2 Posted October 19, 2011 The whole car was designed and hand assembled in Osnabruch including the panel pressing / welding. That Wolfsburg badge I think appears on the fische but isn't actually a Corrado part when you click on it - probably a page shared with the mk2

I believe the engines were shipped to them complete and ready to fit but Karmann pressed the metals and assembled the shells, the interior, and complete assembly of the cars! Contrary to what VW said at the time, most of the design and engineering work was done by Karmann too - NOT VW!
