Testing the brake pedal position sensor

Recommended Posts

00793 - Brake Pedal Position Sensor (G100) 35-00

I understand i'll find this little baby under the brake servo...

Does anyone know any way of testing the sensor for faults??

Should i be able to test with a multi meter??

The story is that the abs light came on and found fault with the front left sensor. I cleared that fault and drove round the block, the fault instantly re-appeared. I replaced the front left sensor.. cleared any faults shown on VAG COM and took her out for a spin. ABS light re-appear... this time showing the fault at the top of this tread. I've cleared the fault and have a spin this weekend. Just trying to see what my troubleshooting process is gonna be if the fault re-appears. Not sure if the ABS is currently working haven't tried it.

I'm i right in thinking that the full version of VAG COM provides troubleshooting steps following each error code???

It just provides codes and measuring blocks if any,if you disconnect the brake pedal switch do you get the same code?
