ShockVR6 0 Posted October 1, 2003 Ok heres the story. Whilst driving down a country lane the other day i lost all power and it sounded like a cylinder or maybe more had stopped working. The following day by removing each HT lead one at a time and listening to the engine sound i narrowed the problem down to cylinder 1. Ive now replaced all HT leads and plugs and i still have the problem. Anyone got any ideas on wot i should do next ? ThnX in Advance.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted October 1, 2003 If changing the plugs and leads makes no difference, it's probably the coilpack. A common complaint on the VR I'm afraid. They cost well over £100. Make sure you get one made by Temic (Part no - 021 905 106) and NOT Beru. A simple test to see if the coilpack is dead is to spray some water on it whilst the engine is running at night. Rev the engine whilst spraying. If you can see sparks around the coilpack, time for replacement. Kev
