rado 0 Posted September 14, 2006 hi all wondering if anyone can help lately reverse has bee struggle to get into now its n really hard to select and difficult to find the other gears easiyl have seen they are controled by cables on top of box so was wondering if any mechanisim under the gear stick could be faulty or does it sound like a new box required any help would be great thx Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Jim 2 Posted September 14, 2006 Have you checked to make sure the circlip on the left hand side / centre of the mechanism under the gaitor is in tact? Failing that you might just need to get it all aligned up, and a gearbox oil change with something like Silkolene Silktran Syn 5 or Redline MT90 wouldn't go amiss :) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Jim 2 Posted September 14, 2006 Its certainly not uncommon. If you pop the gear surround up it should sit on a central shaft running left to right through the middle of the gear change mech - the circlip is usually green coloured and is on the left hand side. rado 0 Posted September 26, 2006 ok i ve had a look under the gearstick and did find a broken circlip but cant see where it could of cum from alll circlips look like ther own so it could possibly be old was wondering if anyone had diagrams or pics of the mechanisim under the gear stick to compare also ther is unit on top of box that can be unbolted could this be cause of my prob ??? thx Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
