corrado VR6 starting probs when hot

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

ive just got a 95 M plate black VR6 corrado, it starts first time in the morn when cold but it seems the hotter the car gets, the worse it is for starting, occasionally when flawing the car it has a little splutter while going up the revs, any help would be gratefull, on either problem

cheers

phil

Welcome to the forum!

When was the fuel filter last changed?

Do you hear the pump running on after you turn the engine off?

Also - is there pressure in the fuel tank when you undo the cap to fill up?

Try the fuel pressure regulator. Had the same problem on mine a few years back. Starts fine from cold, and also when hot if you start it almost immediately after stopping, for example, stopping for fuel. But when left for an hour or so, it would really struggle to start, and would only fire up after turning it over for 5 or more seconds. Replaced the fuel pressure regulator, and cured the problem straight away...
