Fitting early corrado springs on late corrado

I've got a 95 vr6 and got some lowering springs, went to have them fitted and was told theyre for the early corrado's that have got a different fitting or something.

 

I've been told that you can replace a part on the front suspension that will allow these springs to fit.

 

Does anyone know which part needs changing? I asked VW Dealer Parts and they don't know, so need to know exact parts to order.

 

If anyone knows what I mean and could tell me what part I need I'd appreciate it as I cant return the springs....

Top spring plate.

 

You currently have a passat item - 357 412 341A.

 

You need a Golf one - 1H0 412 341.

Had the springs sat in the shed for weeks now, be nice to get them on!

Are the springs for the early rated for the same weight as the lates ? Don't want the front sagging like an old woman do you ????

The late model VR6, 16v and 8v all used the same front springs, while the early G60, 1.8 and 2.0 16v plus 8v all used the same front springs.

 

Hence, mix and match... :)
