Can you convert a passenger seat into a drivers seat?

As in the title really! is it possible or are they 'sided'?

Its not as simple as swopping the top and the bottom over.

 

If your handy with a welder then its possible

but definatly not straight forward.

 

Even the subframe is hard to split
