dub envy 0 Posted October 13, 2006 Is the 2.8 Golf VR6 inlet the same as a 2.9? Thanks.
Tekara 0 Posted October 13, 2006 I believe not, the 2.8 is a little more restrictive than its marginally larger counterpart

Tekara 0 Posted October 13, 2006 Is that an OBD2 2.8 mani on the right ?
Mike Edwards 0 Posted October 13, 2006 Not that I'm aware of. The OBD1 2.8 manifold* I currently have on my VR6 looks alot like this underneath though. *Moves the 'kick in the pants' moment on full throttle downwards by about 500rpm according to the 'butt dyno'
bigpants baby 0 Posted October 13, 2006 I belive the early golf vr (with dizzy) have the same inlet manifolds as corrado vr's,unrestrictive
mgbv8mike 0 Posted October 13, 2006 I've tried both on my VR6....the 'original' 2.9 gave rather more top end hp, and the 2.8 more mid range torque I thought......though the VSR I've fitted is a big improvement on both.
Mike Edwards 0 Posted October 13, 2006 The Shrick VGI I had on anothe VR6 gave substantially more torgue across the range - but the ECU had been remapped to suit.
