jslootweg 0 Posted November 17, 2006 I have had a look around for this problem cant find any immediate answers. My car starts perfectly when cold. Once up to temperature the car will stall if you let it try to idle (i.e some throttle is required to keep it running) Some times it doesn't stall and just hunts a little (around 100-150rpms up and down) sometime sounding like its going to stall. Weird bit is, if it does stall, it restarts fine, and doesn't stall again for the rest of my journey. It sounds electrical to me as when i restart after a stall its fine. Any ideas? Jim 2 Posted November 17, 2006 Having just spent a merry few months diagnosing idling problems on my 2.0 16v, i'd start off by checking that there are no leaks anywhere in your VAC pipework under the engine bay. Arm yourself with a can of carb spray and start spraying little amounts in at joints, etc. My idling problems were that the car would start fine and then just cut out all the bloody time when cold, and improve mostly when warm - so the opposite of yours. But in the end it turned out to the the ISV for me. Got a used one off an Audi 2.0 16v on eBay for £7 and its been perfect since!
