200bhp 0 Posted December 27, 2006 ARRGGH ! My VR6 was running fine, then parked up for a month or so, I have come to re start it and it's running on 4. There is no spark at the central coil pack, I assume they can't just 'go' and a connection is dirty or something ? I have removed the end plastic cover and played with the connections and squirted WD40 around... Any ideas welcome as someone is on the way to buy it ! Supercharged 2 Posted December 27, 2006 Look for cracks in the unit - just the right time of year for these to fail...
dr_mat 0 Posted December 27, 2006 Of course they can just "go".. Not a lot you can do till you've tried a new one, most likely that'll cure it.
200bhp 0 Posted December 27, 2006 Before I buy a new set, can someone confirm that if the two outer coils are working and the inner one isn't that means it's f**ked. IE that they all feed from the same wire / sensor. Thanks
dr_mat 0 Posted December 27, 2006 I can confirm that there are three coils in the coil pack, and that each serves two cylinders, so, if you have no spark on two outlets, and those two outlets are one on top of the other, you HAVE lost a coil. Replace the coil pack.
