lindy33 0 Posted December 27, 2006 hi, my old man has a s reg polo diesel which the abs light has been tempremental since he got it 2 years ago but the light has been on since just after passing its mot a year ago now the mot is about to run out , any ideas would be appreciated as our nearest vw dealer is 120 miles away so their diagnostics machine isnt an option at the moment. thanks Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

dr_mat 0 Posted December 28, 2006 You can do some basic diagnostics yourself, such as using an ohmeter to read the resistance of the wheel sensors - they should obviously not be open or closed circuit, you want to see around 2k ohms for each one. Other than checking the sensors you can't really diagnose it without plugging it in .. so if it's one of the other components, you won't know till you get the diags port hooked up.
