rgn 0 Posted January 6, 2007 Hi Guys, strange fault this one. When cranked there is no spark, but if I remove the distribitor and turn it by hand there is a good fat spark and the injectors fire etc. Put dibby back in and try starting and there is no spark! I took the dibby out to try and prove the ecu, dibby etc. Any Ideas please? what does the factory immobiliser doe? Thanks
Supercharged 2 Posted January 6, 2007 Maybe ignition switch or ECU relay?
rgn 0 Posted January 16, 2007 A big thank you to SuperCharged it was the ignitions switch. I've changed 3 of these on golfs before, but when these have always caused the car not to turn over, never to turn over but with no spark! PS a new swith from the dealers was £18 not too bad when a pirate copy was £11.50. Thanks again
Supercharged 2 Posted January 16, 2007 No worries - yeah they break in strange ways sometimes!!! £18 well spent, the black ones are far better than the cheapo copies!
