hi just bein on ebay and seen EVO II COILOVER for £225 (from ebay) is it worth the money for what it is. Also are any good i know you get what you pay for but i am pretty skint and i would of though they would of bein cheaper than standard suspension.

I posted up about these the other day aswell. No one really knew much, however one eprson i spoke to last night who had a set told me that they are basically cheap versions of the FK coilovers, but very very hard ride.

 

Im seriosuly considering getting them as the price dif isnt much with std e.g. gmax shocks and springs.

just bein looking on ebay and for an extra 5o quid you can get a different pair which seem to be a bit better. i am considering these off ebay or anti roll bars

Stay clear of them - I bought them and the rear end bounces like hell.

The springs are too harsh. I'm going to get new springs at some point - ones with a progressive rate - i.e. the spaces between the coils start large and get smaller.

 

I needed something quick - I hit a rock at the roadside and it collapsed the strut.

But stay away from them - you wouldn't like the ride.

what about the Jamex coil over's on ebay, does anyone know if they are any good?

He takes offers too, i bought a set for £175, so £200 delivered. I've not fitted them yet though so i can't comment on the ride comfort. They look pretty well made for the money though.

The evos. Someone on E38 said they are the same as cobra evo 1's, im guessing they mean copies.

i fitted mine at the weekend, have to sya the ride isnt THAT bad but it is hard.

 

just have to put spacers on the front wheels as the standard 15s tyres are rubbing on the adjustable platform.

 

Overall for a cheap coilover they do exactly what they say on the tin. and they go LOW very low. i have mine set at about 50mm but had them wound right down and the cat was sitting on the ground nearly.

And did you fit them yourself? And when you say hard, i had a gmax supsension and that was hard. Do yuo know if this is harder or not?

well its harder than standard obviously. I am used to driving modified cars and all my cars have had suspension mods on them. I would say that it is not overly hard you probably wouldnt notice much difference in hardness over the gmax suspension, it will be slightly harder but not too much.

serious. How easy? Obv id need clamps for the springs, but what else is involved? Anyone know if there is a guide on here at all? I cant dfind one.

I drove a car with them fitted and actually think they are to hard for fast road use. The ride is harder than my trackday set up (polybushed / solid top mounted / 28mm arb'd / v2's)and found them a little unnerveing (is that a word?) at speed.

i have had mine at 100mph (on private road) lol, and had no issue at all.

 

They are very easy to fit and no spring clamps are required. Just take your old unit out and replace with new coilovers, two bolts at the bottom of the shock and one at the top then it slides out and you put the new coilover in.

 

Will take you about half a day to do. Its not too hard at all

hi, i also bought a set from ebay for my rado and a m8 bought for his mk3 vr6. we have fitted his but were a bit confused with the strut top setup on the fronts. we removed the blue cap supplied and fitted the original setup from his koni`s. is this right? is the blue cap only for packaging? cheers mark

NO.. I would advise you take your car to a specialist to have your suspension correctly / safely fitted..

the blue cap is part of the kit, you just remove the bolt on top of it as this is there to replace the standard bolt you would ust to tighten at the top of the strut.

 

as said i think you should maybe get them fitted professionally
