I would have thought standard body filler would do the job as it's not a structural repair.

would standard body filler not crack if hit say a pothole or something like it?? what about this type of metal putty???

I've used stuff like that before. The only problem is that it can be tougher than the alloy making it hard to sand down and finish. I have used Isopon P45 on alloys before and had no problems.
