dubcharger 0 Posted February 13, 2007 Hi gents, my valver's rad fan kicks in at 100 degrees according to the gauge, i presume this must be the second speed, is it the sender unit on the radiator thats at fault or any other sensors,if so where are they located? cheers
lottysvdub 0 Posted February 13, 2007 the switch on the radiator is the fan thermo swich which controls the fan but you also have 2 sensors on the head ether side of the thermostat housing the one on the left is for the engine ecu and the one on the right is for the coolent temp gauge , my rado used to get up to 110 befor the fans kicked in and i changed all the sensors and even changed the antifreeze but it made no difference , eventualy the fault turned out to be the ecu sensor and now the fan kicks in at 92 and switches off a little later , the 100 mark is quite common for 2ltr 16vs . hope this helps :)
