mpg/2.0 16v/92

Recommended Posts

does 320 miles sound ok to a full tank of petrol around town etc, i have three cars now:2002 tdi redeye-1993 polo and of course the 2.0 1992 16v which is the car in question, also i have to sell either the polo or the corrado cause my other half cannot drive the corrado and the polo is more economical, which in turn means if i sell the polo i will rarely get to drive the tdi- who goes you decide !

cheers

john

I used to get about 350 miles outta my 1.8 16V 'rado (small tank) and I used to get about 320 miles outta my G60 (bigger tank). I have no idea what the fuel economy will be like with my new engine, but I'm guessing it's not going to be as good!  8)

I do about 450 in my 2.0 16v out of town and about 350-380 in town and driving it hard sometimes :D

It all depends really but that sounds about right to me

would tuning the car make it more ecnomical, i not mechanicaly minded but could it be it is burning to much fuel, because before i got the head gasket fixed i was getting 420miles to a full tank ?, but now it is going great but harder on the juice.

Maybe you're just driving it harder now it's running sweet.

I had a similar problem when I drilled my airbox and fitted a K+N.

Heavy right foot syndrome :D

I think all post 92 cars had the 70 litre tank rather than the early 55 litre one.
