DiTch 0 Posted March 9, 2007 sorry about starting a new thread on this but i was after some specific info on the best oil for my usage. . and my question seemed to get swallowed up in the other thread..... i have a 1991 1.8 16v its done 180k i'v been running it on the semi synthetic oil from halfords {green bottle} as the last owner said the engine rattled badly on fully synthetic , which worked a treat in my 8v rocco but i find with the semi synthetic that the car 1 . uses lots, "n" lots 2 . still rattles when engine temp is high 3 . smoke,s also i use the car all day /every day often doing short journeys or finding myself stuck in traffic reading the BEST OIL thread . synta silver comes highly recommended.
