Goldie 2 Posted March 19, 2007 What do you need to know then khurrado, how to attach the leather to the metal ring at that top or at the plastic surround???
DEL VR6 0 Posted March 19, 2007 So, does anyone know how to re attach the leather to the gear knob. I cant seem to get the circlip off. I would have thought you need an unusual set of pliers.. this these?
khurrado 0 Posted March 19, 2007 ok the gear knob has come loose from the leather. I am restitching it now(or trying). I notice thta the leather attaches to the gear knob via a plastic ring at the bottom of the gear knob. How on earth do i get the leather back in there. Goldie 2 Posted March 19, 2007 To attach it to the ring, i dont know whether you can, it may be knackered. The ring on my gaitor is metal and it looks (from memory) like the leather is inserted and then it is pressed....
khurrado 0 Posted March 19, 2007 job done, please lock.
Jay2 0 Posted March 29, 2007 My gaitor's got a metal clip at the top. How do I attach it to my new gear knob?
dinkus 10 Posted March 29, 2007 If you've got a Momo knob, they do a ring that screws into the bottom of the knob and the gaitor ring clips into. Otherwise, I don't think you can :(
Jay2 0 Posted March 29, 2007 Nope, got a new Corrado one from the Stealers. Bugger. :(
Goldie 2 Posted March 29, 2007 There are 2 grooves on the gearknob (below the leather).. You should be able to get a plastic circlip that holds the gaitor to the knob...
Jim Bowen 1 Posted March 29, 2007 the gaitor is pressed into a little bronze coloured ring, the plastic bit of gearknob slides thru centre of that and then the circlip clips on, holding the gaitor up
