Dam_buster 0 Posted April 2, 2007 went to look at a corrado today, and the gear stick was a lil floppy? is that normal? is there a short shifter kit that can fix this? also noisy fuel pump when turning the ignition, when it primes it self- are these normal or should it be something to look at? thanks jim
dinkus 10 Posted April 2, 2007 Sloppy gearstick probably just means the linkage needs adjusting, so a fairly easy fix. The fuel pumps do tend to get noisy before they die (not uncommon considering it's 10+yrs old) and new ones are around £80. It's probably a good idea to replace the fuel filter either way and it might prolong the life of the pump too. The problem is, the pumps do just die without any further warning and could leave you stranded somewhere. I changed the pump and filter on mine and it's been pretty much silent since. Dam_buster 0 Posted April 7, 2007 cheers man! also looked into a G60 other than the obvious supercharger, what is good with this enigine? there are a few in the for sale im interested in, espesh the one in southampton. just whats the pro's of the G60? over the 16v? jonnyboyo 0 Posted April 9, 2007 More power for one and they are easier to eek more bhp from than their 16v counterparts. Although judging from the tech specs the G60 isn't any faster to 60 than a 1.8 16v. Best thing to do is test drive a bog standard valver and G60 and go from their. I see you're 19 so insurance may be a prob on a tuned G60 (even standard for that matter) or not, depending on how you're pockets are lined.
