Jules 0 Posted April 3, 2007 My power steering belt was changed not so long ago as it was making the dreaded squealing noise on full lock. This worked for a short time but the noise is back! It has been tightened a few times and maybe the problem is that it has been overtightened...anyway the guy in the parts department tells me that there are 2 different sizes of belt for a 1991 16v and I am sure the last time it was the longer one of the 2 i got. Should it have been the shorter one I got and this is why it isnt tightening properly? The strut top mountings were changed 2 weeks ago and the squealing got quieter after this for a few days but now is even worse than before.
Stan 24v 0 Posted April 4, 2007 You sure its the belt mate? It may be the tensioner that needs sorting out?? http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.p ... ley_repair
Jules 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Its maybe worth trying this first then before messing about with more belts!
