saysomestuff 0 Posted June 3, 2007 Hey all, Just looking for an enlightened discussion on what to do with the following really (including the dreaded 16v vs 20valve!! ). I have the following bits... Engine bits: A 2.0 non-turbo FSI engine (under 10k miles - will need uprated rods to take boost)[/*:m:e4214] An AGU 20v head (would be rebuilt to 0 miles)[/*:m:e4214] A 2e motor (unknown mileage)[/*:m:e4214] A 9A head (130k)[/*:m:e4214] A 9A engine with TSR KR head and cams (running in car, bottom end 130k, head newly rebuilt NOT ported/polished)[/*:m:e4214] Other: I also have a right handed 20v inlet manifold and cable throttle[/*:m:e4214] and a scirocco 16v inlet with the opening on the right[/*:m:e4214] a KKK K26 turbo (porsche 944)[/*:m:e4214] A supercharger capable of around 30psi[/*:m:e4214] The basic question is........ What shall I do with it all? - Obviously I'd like to use as much stuff as I can from my existing haul - Power-wise I'm after 300bhp or over - only other thing is I'd like to keep it light, torquey and responsive - and will probably run megasquirt management Here's the options I've come up with so far (let's assume anything not used in any option will be sol off to pay for remaining bits): 1. a s/c hybrid 2.0 FSI 20v a la Storm Developments - I'd need to put new rods/pistons in as the non-turbo doesn't have the same rods as the GTI 2. A 16vt (or supercharged) using the long runner intake etc. and a hybrid 2E/9A sertup for 8.5:1 CR 3. A 16vt (or supercharged) using stacked gaskets on the 9A/KR setup what do you lot think I should build?...

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 5, 2007 Is FSI possible with a 20V head? I though that was why VW went back to the 16V head on the FSI - to make room for the injector?

Hey up Kev, that's the reason for the hybrid with a 20vt head, to retain a sensible injection system. I'm just unsure as to whether a much newer 2L engine is worth all the extra hybrid/piston-related effort
