livi1982 0 Posted June 7, 2007 Recently bought a 1.8 16v 1991 Corrado and I'm slowly sorting out the small problems it has. Just realised that the front windscreen demister doesn't work at all. The vents are all working properly, so not sure if it's the selector switch or if it's a seperate fan or what. Not a major problem til the winter comes but need to get an idea of cost and work to sort it. A-J 0 Posted June 7, 2007 You can get a parcel rubber from VW. I can't remember what I paid but around £1.50 I think. If you are getting air through your vents but not your demister it's likely a cog is broken on your heater box. If you take out your heater controls just follow the wire from the sliding selector to the heater box and you'll find the broken cog or snapped wire. Apparently the cogs are no longer for sale from the dealers as a separate item and you have to buy the complete heater box which is very expensive. Passats etc made around the same time supposedly use the same system so try to get a cog from a scrappy. If you find a spare one pass it on to me :D I've set mine to stay on demister by manually turning the cog but it somehow manages to jump back even though the cog is broke :confused4: Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
