imyhamid 0 Posted June 16, 2007 Hi all just wondered if anyone can give me comments on the below link, found it on ebay and just wondered if it was the right part. Also does anyone know of anywhere else that sells them if so where and any contact details. By the way sorry for the big link. Cheers for any info. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-VR6-S ... enameZWDVW
Supercharged 2 Posted June 16, 2007 Yeah thats the part - looks a good price but postage may take it over the price of a new one £70 from VAG Other options are you can replace the bearing if the spring and wheel are ok - guide to do this in the KB and part is £10 ish There is also a billet tensioner wheel with bearing available from somewhere (states i think)
dr_mat 0 Posted June 17, 2007 VInce @ Stealth kept telling me he was looking at getting replacement pulleys made up, but I don't know whether they ever got around to it. This was back when the VW part was ~£130 .. now it's reduced to "only" £70 I'm not sure it would make so much sense.
Stan 24v 0 Posted June 17, 2007 There is currently a secondhand one on ebay: here also a billet pulley too, but a bit expensive: Billet
MK1Campaign 0 Posted June 18, 2007 You get the billet one much cheaper by going direct to Gruvenparts. Im sure mine was in the £30 bracket.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 18, 2007 That Billet one above looks just like the Gruven one! It's a good buy as it comes with a good quality SKF bearing, which you can change when ever with circlip pliers easily.
