New rear disc question (G60)

Recommended Posts

When buying new rear discs for a G60,do they come with the abs rings fitted or not?

And are the rear wheel bearings pressed in on the back?

I know the outer bearing is loose obviously, just unsure on the rear one?

Cheers,Neil.

When I replaced my discs on my 16v the discs were bare, so I had to use my existing ABS rings and fit new bearings. I'd imagine the G60 ones are the same.

Yep, always use new as any distortion will bring the abs light on...

Common mk4 part so dealers should keep in stock, you need new bearings too and maybe think about new sheilds along with stub axle bolts...

Thanks chaps 8)

Will go for the new bearings/abs rings for sure.

The sh|t shields  are pretty mint so i may just scratch em up with emory and paint em,probably dont need it tbh...

What would be the need for new stub axle bolts m8?

Will i be able to get the new bearings in with socket/wood/hammer?

And just seen this on etka: Rotor speed sensor : 1jo 614 149

Sounds like the abs ring?

Yep thats the part and it just pushes on...

You only need new bolts if the sheilds are coming off (they go behind the stub)

Yeah large socket will get the bearings in - make sure you use VAG bearings only or you'll be doing the job again in ayear or so!

Nice one.

Thanks again for the help 8)

Rear discs are currently really badly glazed/pitted :( so ive bought a new pressure regulator, and will adjust it once fitted along with the new discs (Machining down by 6mm)/pads/bearings etc.

Neil.
