PhatVR6's first Corrado

Recommended Posts

Finally, after an 11 hour, 500 mile round trip from York to Cardiff and back, I’m now proud to announce that I am a happy Corrado owner :D

It’s a 1994, M plate, 2.0 8v (soon to have my 2.9VR6, 6 speed, 4WD in it of course), in Burgundy Pearl Metallic (C3U or ‘Aubergine’ if you like).

Totally standard, except for a glass Passat sunroof panel (nice touch) and a Tracker.

It’s a minter, can’t wait for the weekend so I can give it a damn good valet and polish. Oh, and lower it, and tint the rear lights, de-badge the grill, fit my stereo, etc, etc (here we go again…..)

Pics coming when it’s daylight.

EDIT, Burgundy, not Blackberry....

Cheers.

I've actually been after one for 7 years, but they were always out of my price range, so I had to make do with a Corrado engined, dashed, braked, seated mk2 Golf.

Finally I saw the light and gave up on it and went for a Corrado.

It's totally standard, but handles better than a modified Golf! fantastic cars to drive, well impressed. :D

Not exaclty the weather for it, But I'll give it a go tonight. If not, it'll be a moody B&Q floodlit car park job!

Very nice mate!

Although it is such a crap engine, it will be a shame to kill one of the rarest (obviously not in the sought-after sense) Corrado's.

Sure it will be a stunner though :)

Why will it? they aren't special becasue they are rare. they are rare because they were sh1te!!

All corrado's should have a VR6, for me, it's easier to build one than buy one.

Nah I know it's rare because it's relatively crap.

Can't wait to see the finished article Phat. Keep us updated,

looking good Phat, what you got planned for the interior and when do you think you'll be starting and completing?

Good to see you didn't go with the current breed of modders ie 20v T, its so last season :D Give me the sound of a VR over a dump valve any time (even better both combined  )

keep us posted on how you get on mate.
