Firing on 1 and 4 - 2.0l 16v

Just renewed the rocker gasket after removing plugs 2 and 3 and discovering they were full of oil, if i remeber correctly oil dammages the plug electrode?? could this possible be causing the miss fire, as it ran fine before.
