swginn 0 Posted July 11, 2007 I recently fitted a Magnex Cat-back to my 9A Valver.... When I fitted it I had to re-use the sleeve that joins the Cat to the front pipe of the Magnex system. It's not so much a clamp as an expanding sleeve with two clamps (one on either end). Anyway since fitting the exhaust I've noticed that there's a slight air leak coming from the join between the Cat and the Magnex System and suspect this sleeve clamp is at fault as it looked fairly knackered when I fitted it. Does anybody have the part number for this (it is a VAG part) or have any suggestions as to how to fix the leak.... obviously I've tightened everything up, etc.... Should I need to use exhaust sealant on a new exhaust?
g164rge 0 Posted July 11, 2007 Afaik you should use exhaust sealant on any joins you break when reassembling.
swginn 0 Posted July 11, 2007 Cheers, think I'm gonna refit the system tommorrow using sealant. Gonna try and get hold of a new sleeve from the dealers too.... Anybody with ETKA or ETOS know the part no. I know for a fact that my useless local dealer won't have a clue!!!
